Abstract:
Vibriosis is a major threat to the sustainable development of mariculture, with its outbreaks often closely associated with environmental factors. This presentation focuses on two typical environmental stressors - the density variation of Vibrio alginolyticus in water and microplastic pollution - exploring how they regulate the bacterial quorum sensing system to activate the virulence of opportunistic pathogenic Vibrios, thereby promoting the occurrence of enteritis in fish.
Biography:
Dr. Yaotong Hao is an Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor at the College of Marine Sciences, Hebei Agricultural University. She earned her Ph.D. in Aquatic Biology from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her primary research focuses on intestinal microbiota and health regulation of aquatic animals. In recent years, she has presided over several national and provincial-level research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project and the Hebei Provincial Natural Science Foundation General Project. She has published over ten research articles as first or corresponding author in renowned international journals including Science of the Total Environment, Frontiers in Microbiology, and Aquaculture. Dr. Hao has accumulated substantial research experience in Vibrio quorum sensing, microplastic ecotoxicology, and fish intestinal microecology.
